“Last summer I headed up construction management for a Factory Automation Upgrade Project ($471,426) and new Thin Juice Heaters and Piping Project ($523,817) for American Crystal Sugar in Crookston MN during their annual outage. (June through August) The mechanical contractor for both projects was RWI. I was very pleased with the contracted work performed by RWI and so was ACSC. The Factory Automation entailed piping modifications to accept several hundred instrumentation devices of every form and throughout the entire factory. The Heater Project entailed new plate and frame heaters, piping modifications, pump modifications and new pump installations. RWI had two on site supervisors who were excellent as were the welders, pipefitters, and millwrights under them. The jobs were completed in a timely manner and within budget. Very few change orders were required except for scope of work changes. Their estimator/planner was timely and fair with proposal requests. With less than three weeks before start-up several unrelated piping projects were approved. Due to the fast track and their performance they were awarded the work on a Time and Material basis. They worked long hours and weekends and pulled it off. Without RWI on site the factory wouldn’t have started on time like it did. I highly recommend RWI for any industrial needs.

“I am writing this letter to provide feedback to the quality of work and abilities that RWI is capable of providing. I have worked closely with RWI over the past three years on many different projects at American Crystal Sugar Company. They have excelled in both quality and also timeliness in completion of said projects. I would consider the following a list of their strengths:

• Process Piping: including stainless steel and carbon steel piping.
• Millwright Work: including equipment setting, motor and pump installation, conveyor installation (drag conveyors, screw conveyors, belt conveyors).

The last item which should be listed separately is their willingness to work any hours required, specifically for factory shutdowns. As recently as last week, RWI was able to provide 8 millwrights to work a 12 hour overnight shift with only three hours of notification. The skill level of the employees provided was not compromised, as one would expect with such a short window.
